Ehhhhhh........I don't like this |
First, you cannot mix too many patterns at once, save that for the runway models, because it won;t be flattering on you...trust me.
Second, you can mix patterns. For example, stripes and floral patterns can go together! I'm a big fan of stripes mixed with florals:
These examples are perfect, this is what I like. Be careful of blue nautical stripes however, it is a huge popular trend right now, I'm not sure why, it used to be just a vintage thing. You can wear blue stripes if you want, I mean I own blue striped shirts. It's just become too popular; Everyone's wearing it. But lets get back to stripes and florals, here's where you can find them so you can try out this cute trend yourself.
From http://www.forever21.com:

Or...
This lacy striped shirt with.....This floral skirt
Or....How about a funky geometric pattern with a floral:
This geometric pattern with...this floral skirt
Or....how about polka dots with floral:
See the "pattern" here??? Floral on bottom and a different pattern on top. You can wear any bottoms you want. Jeans, shorts, or chiffon shorts or pants, whatever you want. It's cute and perfect for the summer when you want to mix things up.
Here's my take on mixing patterns |
I kinda wanna try this. It actually looks kinda cute without being too tacky. Haha.
