How short is way too short?

"We wear short-shorts!" Alright so summer's coming, and how many of you don't wanna look like a hooker but still don't wanna look like your grandma on the beach? Me. We all go through that blip in life of wearing short-shorts, let's move forward. I was there too, people used to tell me they could see my butt all the time. Sometimes I even felt insecure wearing my short-shorts because my legs are so long. So, now we're going to move into the future and go back to the past....at the same time. The trend for this summer is high-waisted shorts. Plus they're cute, colorful, and not too short.
From Forever21:
          Under $20 at forever21.com
Break free from those hollister jean shorts that you paid $40 for
even though it actually cost them $2.50 to make them.
Go for bright colors, natural colors, patterns, florals. Then look for buttons, cuffs, bows, and belts.

                                   P.S. I bought these
<-----------

By the way all of us only wore short-shorts because everyone else did and we thought they attracted guys...Go with your own preference, what you think looks good on you, and what clothes make YOU feel good about yourself.

Buy clothes for you. Be your own style. Don't worry I'm done with my lecture.

What? A casual comfortable affordable style that people adore????: A Short Style segment...

Friend Style Watch Segment
My friend and fellow hurdler on the track team, Sarah Hoff, is definitely the inspiration for this blog. She wears what she likes. She has a style that's casual, comfortable, and affordable, and I love it!
Now when we all think of those three words, we think sweat pants, if you think this post is about sweat pants, stop reading my blog please and venture else where for style help, you won't find any by the way unless, someone signs you up for the show What Not to Wear(one of my favorites!). Anyways back to Sarah's style. She's always matching first of all. Second, she knows what to pair with her favorite converse. Strolling into school today, she wore what she calls an awesome outfit, and what I would call snazzy:skinny jeans, white v-neck tee, her soft green converse(they define her), and a bright blue hoodie. Anyone can wear this and be perfectly trendy. They can also be comfortable...at the same time. Next time you don't know what to wear or you're searching for a style that's more you go the simple route: Find some classic tees, skinny jeans, and converse. But the key is to add splashes of color, that's what absolutely makes the outfit, think warm colors and bright colors. It's like a classic combination of nerdy, tomboy, and trendy style. Maybe it should be called Hoff style........

Makin' the Switch

Yes, the switch. From winter to spring. I'm sorry if you're reading this and you live in Florida, I'm sorry but up here in Buffalo, it was cold for forever, it snowed in April. It's about time that everyone makes the switch from their winter clothes to spring/summer clothes. First I'm gonna be the fashion police. NO one is allowed to wear a sweater and jeans one day, and the shorts and a tank the next, your wardrobe just doesn't work that way. Second, no more uggs! I can't take it anymore, they're driving me nuts, everytime I see someone walk into school with muddy or wet uggs I just want to scream! Aren't your feet hot? Do they need oxygen? Are you even bothered that you're ruining your highly expensive pair of aussie boots? Alright I've got a solution for you. Turn on some good music and force yourself to enter that mess of a closet and that jumble of drawers. Here's what you do:
-Look at every item of clothing
 FOR EXAMPLE
Ask yourself: Do I like this shirt anymore?
If you said yes: place it in a "yes" pile
If you said no: place it in the "no" pile, send it to a consignment shop, a plato's closet, or good will, or you could have a clothing swap with a bunch of friends.
If you you said I don't know: try it on, see if you still like it, if it can match with anything, etc. then place in the "yes" or "no" pile.
-Next it's time to put all your winter clothes away.
Anything that is the following is considered winter:
*turtle necks
*long-sleeved shirts(unless you want to keep one out for a cold summer night at the beach, and 3/4 sleeves are okay!)
*sweaters(again keep one out for the beach)
*Uggs(absolutely, you just gotta put 'em away, please)
*Other boots made of suede material(leather is perfectly fine)
*The Moccasins(Yup, they're like slippers)
*Any dark colored tights(even snazzy ones, keep the nude tights out for chillier days)
*Sweatpants
*long leggings(you wanna walk around looking like you're wearing long underwear with a summer blouse, it's your choice to look weird.)
*Knit scarves, or even solid colored scarves
*Your winter coat
*Don't forget to put away anything containing snowflakes!
-Finally, take out the clothes you've been waiting for:
*Those floral prints!
*Sun dresses!
*Shorts!
*Skirts!
*More dresses!
*Sandals, flip flops, boat shoes, espadrilles, wedge heels, strappy heels, heels!
*Sunglasses!
*Trench coat!
*Blouses
*Halters, Tubes, strapless, sleeveless, etc!
*Bathing Suit!
*Bold, warm, and light colors!
Aren't you excited? Have fun sorting/organizing...

Flip Flops are Becoming White Trash

Yes I said it. It absolutely needed to be done. It's completely true. I know you're sad. But hey if you wanna be white trash, go right ahead. I will too. Alright I'll get to the point I'm trying to make. Flip flops are fading. In the fashion world. Why?
1. They are cheap.
2. They have been found to be extremely terrible on your feet.
3. They look terrible when someone tries to dress up and wear them.
Don't worry though, flip flops aren't going to disappear or spontaneously combust. They'll still live. You should buy a pair for the beach, or...or I actually cannot think of another reason to buy them, except for slipping them on your feet because you're lazy. I also have a solution. They started emerging last year and have become an even larger phenomenon: Sandals. What exactly are sandals anyways? Do they even exist within the average american vocabulary list?
Sandal:
a shoe consisting of a sole of leather or other material fastened to the foot by thongs or straps.

....sounds like a flip flop right? wrong! Here are some gorgeous sandals that are sure to make you forget all about flip flops: By the way, these are under $20!

 These 5 found at http://www.papayaclothing.com
If you haven't heard of papaya clothing, go check it out now! I actually bought a pair of the white sandals!

Sandals are comfortable, they don't flip or flop, and they stay on your feet. I know everyone's done it before, you're out walking and someone steps on your heel or you're just a klutz and your flip flop falls off, it's embarrassing, I know, I've been there too. You can also find cheap sandals in similar styles at: http://www.wetseal.com

Look for styles that have buckles, beads, ruffles, cuffs, colors, and cool fake leather patterns. These 5 found at http://www.wetseal.com and under $20 of course! Stray away from the flip flop this summer and try out a sandal, your feet will thank you and so will your fashion sense!

Be stylish with your workout clothes. (Is that even possible??)

Yes it's possible. And also incredibly cheap if you know where to look. I started looking for some chic clothes to run in, I know how everyone is on sports teams, I run track. Normally the popular gear for sports is all about money. Expensive. We all know the brands: Nike, Under Armor, Adidas, Puma, etc. But what about being a recessionista for a change? What about brands like Xersion?(I know you've never heard of it). So aside from being cheaper than the famous labels, these brands carry cute and stylish clothing that your allowed to sweat in.

Xersion: My friend, Katie Buck, inspired me to write this post(Friend Style Watch!). She wears everything from this company including her sports bra. Sold at Jcpennys, and on sale for 17.99, these tanks can be rocked out in the gym, jogging, track practice, yoga, zumba, pilates, wherever.

Cute and colorful with different shapes of a racer back tee, you can find these at Jcp.com
Also you can't forget shorts. So girls enough of wearing Soffee cheerleading shorts and guys basketball shorts, it's time for something new that's comfortable and feminine(jcp.com):

These shorts come in a multitude of colors and patterns on the pinstripe.$14.99

You also can't forget the ever comfortable and slimming yoga pants! Everyone is a fan of yoga pants! $19.99

$19.99For some more color...check out jcp.com for the Xersion brand of activewear, they also sell wind jackets, dry-fit v-necks, sports bras, yoga clothing and more.

Back...avec sniper photos

Sorry it's been so long(actually it's really only been 5 days). I was busy, I went on an adventure to Philly. Philly was amazing, but there's always wardrobe malfunctions in any busy city, so here's a couple 'sniper photos' I snapped while there:
What do you think when you walk out of your house? I'm going to the gym, but maybe I wanna look nice, but I still wanna feel comfy and wear clashing colors. So lets go through this picture:
1.) The nice sweater-Yes it's cute, it's raglan. But...It doesn't match that tank top or the unflattering gym shorts or the awkward salmon colored flip flops.
2.) The yellow tank top-Matches none of this outfit.
3.)Unflattering gym shorts- Definitely do not go with the sweater, huge fashion don't.
4.) The salmon flip flops-Why?

Just please remember never to go out like this, if you're going to the gym-dress like it. If you're not-dress like you're not going to the gym. It's so simple to follow.

Well someone's feeling a little stripey today aren't they? This tourist picked the perfect day to wear that outfit as they ran up the infamous "Rocky Steps"(My sarcasm will wear on you as this blog continues). There's not really any key points to go through about this outfit except for the fact that she is wearing a striped shirt with matching striped socks...Big mistake. Then she's wearing sneakers? Why?

If you have anything to say about these pics, or what you think these people were thinking as they picked out their clothes, comment I'd love to hear what you have to say about their clothing mishaps.
