Stressed?!?! First Day Outfit Tips

This post might be too late for some of you, but I had to work yesterday and I don't start school until tomorrow.
Maybe second day dressing tips? I mean you don't want to look like a slob after walking in the first day all snazzy(Or possibly, you looked like a slob the first day so now you need some help for the second day). Okay so you want to look good right? Let's start:

1.) Be Yourself. I swear I say this whenever I've made tips, you seriously need to dress like yourself though. You are the boss of your wardrobe, I am not, Name-brand stores are not, your boyfriend is not, etc. Just don't walk into school day one like this:

Cute, simple, perfect first day outfit.

And then the rest of the school year like this:

This is a perfect picture. The definition of my school. You could've woken up wearing that, why even bother getting dressed, you look like a slob. And you know what's even worse? This outfit consists of Uggs and PINK sweatpants. The cost: Around $160 plus. The realization that you could've bought a bunch of outfits or some key pieces to your wardrobe: Priceless. Okay I'm done venting using cliche visa card commercial slogans.

P.S. This is also a tip suggesting not to make expectations too high. People think you look good one day, you'll look good another day. They could also think you've changed.

2.) Look nice. Be snazzy, jazz up your outfit, add accessories that make you stand out. Maybe it's your freshman year, you kind of want to be noticed, why wouldn't you? You don't want to look like a freshman or a bland blob of human flesh. Cute things to consider:

A dress or a skirt. However, I would go for simple and casual. For example add a belt, it makes you look more casual, instead of looking like you just walked into a 5 star restaurant. Remember you're dressed to impress without looking strange.

Wear a cute headband. It gets noticed! Just make sure if there's a flower or a bow on the headband that it's not gigantic. You don't want to look like a freak.

Wear some awesome jeans or shorts if it's too hot(Just make sure they're not too short, you'll be self-conscience and too noticeable/too predictable)

Vintage looking flared jeans are in, but I also love a skinny jean.

Cute cropped tops and sweaters are in, and they're adorable too

3.) Pick out your outfit the day before, this is also good for the rest of the year. You'll have more time at night to put together an ensemble and more time in the morning for your hair and makeup instead of being stressed about what you should wear.

4.) I would advise you not to wear old clothing, meaning something you bought last year that everyone's already seen before. It can be boring, un-noticeable, and I don't think I'd feel good wearing something that's been in my closet forever, it's just not right.

5.) This goes for the entire school year: Do not wear a completely different outfit everyday. A keypoint of having style is being able to recycle and re-wear pieces of your wardrobe and accessories. Also being able to put together different outfits with seperate pieces of clothing. Experiment with your wardrobe, that's what school is like for me.

6.) Don't be blah and boring. Make a statement, make your presence known. Haha just don't be basic, no t-shirts and drab jeans...blah. You can really make a statement by rocking a t-shirt with flare jeans or skinny jeans and cool sneakers or even wear a tube skirt with your shirt. And please, pretty please no disgusting looking flip flops that have been living on your feet the entire summer.

7.) Be confident, don't walk in stressed about your outfit, feel good about the clothes your wearing, it's an awesome feeling.

Okay I'm trying something new now....Guys need help too, they're quite stressed as well about what the heck to wear on the first day...

Follow everything I said up there about being yourself, looking nice, being confident, being boring and what not. But about your outfit, impress us girls. Be snazzy.

Polos are nice. They're quite a classic(p.s. especially if they're Ralph Lauren, that's much more impressive than hollister pshh).

V-necks are also good. It's simple and makes you look good. Guys can always pull off a v-neck t-shirt, unless it's too low so be careful.

Sweaters are great, v-neck or crew; it doesn't matter. Wear a nice bold color like dark blue, deep red, burgendy, yellow even. Roll up the sleeves and you're good to go.

Cardigans. I know some of you might feel weird wearing a cardigan. Just do it, you'll look classy. Guys look awesome in cardigans.

Flannels are good too!(Button down shirts too) No you don't look like a lumberjack, you look good. Either plain flannel or waffle style or a nice color. Roll up those sleeves, you look nice.

Stick with jeans or shorts orrrrr....try this:
Chinos or Khakis in colors like beige, tan, brown, light brown, etc.

Or try corduroys, they're pretty awesome on guys.

Lastly, please pull up your pants. Yeah, shockingly, we don't want you wearing your pants down to your ankles. You don't look good like that, isn't it embarrassing that you can't buy pants that fit? Take my advise, trust me, I speak for girls everywhere.
